Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm recently announced the appointment of Mark Shadle and Janet Cabot as presidents of the firm’s Central Region, which includes its Chicago CO-headquarters office and operations in Dallas and Austin.

Shadle and Cabot succeed Nancy Ruscheinski who managed the Central Region for the last seven years.   Ruscheinski recently was appointed president and chief operating officer for Edelman’s U.S. operation.  Shadle and Cabot are based in Chicago and will oversee a staff of more than 500 employees.   Edelman is the largest public relations agency in Chicago.

Mark Shadle is a 23-year Edelman veteran who most recently served as deputy president of the Central Region and as leader of the firm’s U.S. corporate practice, which is focused on reputation management, crisis management, employee engagement, financial communications, public affairs, and corporate social responsibility.   During his career with Edelman, Mark has directed programs for a wide range of clients, from multinational corporations to entrepreneurial start-ups.   He is an active member of several civic and professional organizations, including the Economic Club of Chicago, the Executives' Club of Chicago and the Business Marketing Association, and he serves on the boards of the Alliance for the Great Lakes and the Chicago Area Council of the Boy Scouts.

Janet Cabot is a veteran public relations practitioner who joined Edelman three years ago.  Prior to her new position, she led Edelman’s Chicago Consumer Food and Nutrition practice.   She continues to serve as Food & Nutrition practice director for the U.S., bringing her deep industry knowledge, thought leadership and understanding of current and emerging food issues to the benefit of Edelman teams and their clients.  Janet is chair of The Culinary Trust, the philanthropic arm of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and board member and former chair of the Visiting Nurses Association Foundation.
