Warren Fernandez

Warren is the Chief Executive Officer for APAC. He brings a deep understanding of the critical importance of building and safeguarding trust in a changing world and has firsthand experience navigating the transformation of the media ecosystem.​

Warren was previously editor-in-chief at English/Malay/Tamil Media Group in SPH Media. He simultaneously served as the editor of The Straits Times. He joined The Straits Times as a political reporter in 1990 and would go on to serve as news editor as well as foreign editor and deputy editor. In 2009, he left to join Roya Dutch Shell as a global manager for its Future Energy project, working with its scenario planning and communications team in London and the Hague. He returned to the paper in 2012 as its senior-most editor.​

During his tenure at The Straits Times, Warren accelerated the news organization’s shift from operating as an analog newsroom to a fully integrated, 24/7-multi-media content platform. He was elected for two terms as the president of the World Editors Forum, the leading global network for print and digital editors of news organizations, under the auspices of the World Association of News Publishers.​

Warren is an engaged community member and has served as a director for the National Environment Agency, the National Heritage Board, and currently serves as a Board Member to the National Arts Council and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He was appointed as a Member of the Public Service Commission by the President of Singapore in 2023.
