Davide Scalenghe

Davide joins Edelman as Head of Global Public Health. Davide brings 20 years of international experience in strategic communications, media relations, content production and broadcasting, with a focus on public health, humanitarian affairs and international development. Prior to joining Edelman, Davide worked with several global media companies, governments (at both local and national level) and international organizations, including Oxford Policy Management, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, UNAIDS, the International COVID-19 Data Alliance, Al Gore’s Current TV, and spent a year in the field in the Democratic Republic of Congo with Doctors Without Borders. Most recently, Davide was at the World Resources Institute working with the High-Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy, a group of 16 serving World Leaders committed to advancing sustainable economic policies to benefit people and the planet.

Davide began his career in production at MTV International to then become a journalist, making documentary programs for the likes of CNN and Discovery. These were pivotal years in his personal and professional life, years spent investigating and recounting the stories and struggles of individuals and communities of diverse backgrounds and aspirations and exposing a considerable segment of the general public to significant social problems in a transnational context.

Davide holds a Master’s in Development Studies from SOAS, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a BA in Media and Cultural Studies from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts. He is bilingual in English and Italian, fluent in French, conversational in Portuguese and Spanish, with extensive track-record of working with people across a variety of cultural and linguistic boundaries in the EU, North America, Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, Southeast Asia and Latin America.
